Amazing time in Athens, Greece πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·Β

The last couple of days have been spent in the beautiful city of Athens! Athens has been a bit different than I expected, but overall amazing! The first day we arrived at the airport and ran into a couple of old Aussie’s who were going to be staying in downtown Athens as well. We decided to all share a cab to cut down the cost, since a ride to the city was about 55 Euro. Kind of pricey when living on a backpackers budget! We jumped into this old crusty Volvo with our bags in hand because it was so tiny! Our cab driver was nuts swerving through every lane on the highway and nearly hitting all the people riding their scooters like animals! The streets are filled with beautiful farmers markets and so many great food choices! Once we got settled in we started our trek around to all of the beautiful historic monuments! If yor planning a trip to Athens, be prepared to walk…. a lot! We visited the Parthenon, Temple of Zeus, New Acropolis Museum, The Ancient Agora, and the beautiful Panathaniac stadium (home of the first Olympic games)! We met a wonderful couple from Michigan early on at the Parthenon and decided to hangout with them all they! David is a video blogger and software engineer, Ill be sharing the link to his account when we get in touch again! When we got to the Panathaniac Stadium we felt it was only right to run a lap around! I mean these Athenians did it 3,000 years ago naked and barefoot πŸ˜… so no excuse for us lol. After taking that lap it was time for some chow and so we headed to a beautiful Greek restaurant where we had some amazing food and connected with the restaurant staff well! Even though we could not understand each other it was all smiles πŸ˜ƒ they even gave us a round of shots on the house 🏑 After saying by to our friends we continued our night , ending it with a lot of Ouzo and Whiskey…… Last I remember I was dancing in the middle of a small side street with a beautiful German girl, we danced the night away…. and here I am today with a massive headache writing this post! Now off to the beach than to the airport. We will be in Santorini in a few πŸ™πŸ»
